The second episode of Arksen Origins talks to Jasper Smith, Arksen Founder, about where his sense of adventure began and his past expeditions.

“As a child I grew up watching Jacques Cousteau movies and reading adventure books, studying the great mountaineers and just being enthralled at the idea of being challenged by an endeavour.”

Jasper had the opportunity to take part in a sailing and climbing trip from Australia all the way up to Alaska on a sailing boat and was one of the first boats, if not the first western boat to go into Kamchatka, Russia.

“…I had spent many years climbing and being inspired by Doug Scott, Stephen Venables and Chris Bonington and these amazing mountaineers…I was given the opportunity to climb almost every mountain between Australia and Alaska.”

Watch the second episode of Arksen Origins below featuring Jasper Smith and Olly Hicks.

“If you’re given the opportunity to do those things, they’re sort of once in a lifetime, so I jumped at the chance.”
