Olly Hicks rowing across the Atlantic Sea

The first episode delves into the mind of Olly Hicks, the driving force behind the Arksen Foundation and Arksen Explorers’ Club.

Olly is the only person to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean from the USA to England after 124 days at sea as well as the youngest to row any ocean solo (at the time).

“…I was always drawn to the ocean, to the sea, to the rivers, to lakes. It’s a visceral sort of need be in that other element where you can just get away.”

Watch the film below and discover more about Olly’s exploration background and love of the ocean.

Olly’s other accomplishments include being the first to row across the Tasman Sea from Tasmania to New Zealand, through 96 days alone on the notoriously wild southern ocean, and a 200 mile extreme kayak voyage from the Shetland Islands to Norway in memory of the World War Two Shetland Bus Operation.

“It’s wild, it untamed, and for me there’s no other element that gives you all those things.”
